Whats up, Doc?

The Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) is having a show on classic Warner Brothers cartoons. The whole WB crew is there - Bugs, Taz, Daffy, Tweety, Sylvester, Elmer (Fudd, that is), even Marvin the Martian! Oh yeah, Porky will be there too - but go easy on him about the whole swine flu thing... Animation cells, drawings, cartoons, and more.

MOHAI is near the UW so it's a quick drive, bus/bike ride, or walk. Through May 17 - so hurry on down!

Gnomon in Wired

The current issue of Wired magazine has an interesting article about Neville Page, one of the leading CG monster artists in Hollywood.

We have a few titles that feature Neville Page as the instructor. Come on down to the library to check out these and other tutorials from Gnomon and Digital-Tutors. AiS students may borrow three at a time, for three days at a time. Don't forget your student ID - that is your library card. Also, we subscribe to Wired, so come in and browse the current issue - I just read it from cover to cover and it's an especially good one. We also have back issues, which can be checked out for one week.

Magazine and Journal Madness

We have cartloads of magazines and journals we are just giving away. For free! Included are titles from both the Argosy and Art Institute library collections.

Titles include The Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention, Art Forum, Print, Abitare, a ton of Communication Arts, and much, much more. The free magazines are located just outside the library entrance.

Pat Moriarity Art Show

Art Institute of Seattle instructor Pat Moriarity has an art show opening tomorrow night at Tigertail in Ballard.






















If you don't make it to the opening, I suggest you check out the art while enjoying a delicious weekend brunch. In addition to their solid brunch menu Tigertail offers what seems like a hundred different styles of Bloody Mary.
