Spike Jonze, the independent director, is known for
Being John Malkovich, plus his work with the Beastie Boys and skateboarders. Now he's working on big budget Hollywood film of
Where the Wild Things Are, a fantastic children's book by Maurice Sendak.
This past Sunday's
New York Times Magazine includes a
feature article about him that is really inspiring. It tells the story of how he followed his own instincts, having fun making videos of his skateboarder and BMX friends, and now he's making a huge movie that is sure to be weird and interesting - I can't wait to see it.
We have some of his earlier work in our video collection, which you can check out and watch on your own.
